YIS Food Fair - Comix Inc. Success

4 May 2008. Weather: Fair with scattered showers.

Comix Inc. setup stall in the "charity area" of the Food Fair which included Amnesty International, Refugees International Japan etc. Comix Inc. sold students' own-drawn comics to raise funds for the "YIS One Yen Drive".
.
Proudly occupying a single small table, the new Comix Inc. signage was displayed, together with other home-made promotional posters. On sale was James' new comic release "Star Wars Episode I The Markus Menance". These were sold for 50¥ each. Also on sale were home-drawn laminated "Star War cards" at 10¥ each.

James & David started manning the booth, initially nervous, and slowly gained confidence when they were later joined by Rinze and other friends. Slowly but steadily, a stream of curious teachers, parents and students came by the booth, thumbing through the comics and asking questions like "Did you draw this yourself?" etc.

After setting up stall for about 3 hours, it was mission accomplished! A total of 11 copies of the comics and some 15 laminated cards were sold. Including copies sold earlier this week, a whopping 25 copies was sold in total. With this single comic issue, Comix Inc. managed to raise about 1500¥ for the "One Yen Drive".

After "closing shop", Comix Inc. helpers went off to enjoy a much deserved fun-filled time at the food fair, especially at the haunted house and the other arcade games.

Special thanks to the PTSA, teachers, parents and friends for their support and understanding for this very small effort by Comix Inc. to make a difference.

Comix Inc. launches new identity.

4 May 2008. Weather: Fair.

Today is the Yokohama International School (YIS) Food Fair 2008. In conjunction with this special event, Comix Inc. launched their new corporate identify.

James Q, team manager said "The red bold words represent the color of YIS and the club was founded to support YIS' One Yen Drive."

"We hope more students will produce their own comics and under Comix Inc., sell their comics and raise funds for the One Yen Drive. If you can't produce your own comics, you can help sell, design posters etc. It's that simple. Everyone is welcome.", James added.

The new "identity" will be displayed at the Comix Inc. sales area.
